How a longer move is planned

Local work around Harrogate and a drive to another part of the UK are both normal jobs for us. The difference is time, vehicle choice and how carefully the list is agreed. A missing wardrobe is annoying on a local job. On a long job it can mean a separate collection. Send a room-by-room list, and photos of anything large or awkward.

We collect from homes and offices in the town and from villages further out, including places towards Ripon, Wetherby and Boroughbridge. The destination is the address on the quote, not a menu of city pairs. House moves and office moves remain the main work. A part load can travel too, when the list is honest.

Insurance is provided. Ask us what is covered when you book, including items that will be in the van for many hours.

The day itself

Loading starts at the time we agreed. Upstairs rooms often go on first so they can come off in a useful order, unless you need the kitchen boxes first. You handle keys at both ends. If completion is late, tell us as soon as you know. Waiting time beyond a normal handover is not assumed in the quote.

We do not disconnect gas or water. Fridges travel empty and dry. Hazardous goods stay out of the van. If you want the kitchen and china packed, add packing so it is finished before we load.

At the other end we unload into named rooms and rebuild the standard furniture we dismantled. Access we have not been told about, such as a flat with no lift, will change the finish time. Mention it at the quote stage.

Is packing included?

Not unless you add it. Long trips are harder on loose items, so packing fragile rooms is worth discussing when you book.
