Oatlands is the leafy south of Harrogate. Streets such as Oatlands Drive, Hookstone Road and the roads towards Leeds Road are mostly family houses: bays, drives, and the odd gravel sweep. That helps a van, until the drive is short, uphill, or blocked by a visitor’s car. A few older terraces and flats nearer the Stray have only the kerb.
Leeds Road is the through route. Cricket at St George’s Road, just off that road, adds Saturday parking. The Stray itself is protected open land, not a place to leave a lorry. If the only legal stop is a time-limited bay, ask North Yorkshire Council about a suspension before the keys are released.
HG2 covers most of Oatlands. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book. A piano, a large dining table or a house going further than Leeds needs an inventory, not a guess from the bedroom count.

The Stray
The council's local plan names the Stray as protected open land under the Harrogate Stray Act 1985. It borders the Oatlands side of town. It is not a van park, and the roads across it are for through traffic.

Hornbeam Park station
Northern lists Hornbeam Park as the unstaffed station in south Harrogate, on the line towards Leeds and Pannal, with step-free platforms. Oatlands Drive itself is a bus and car journey to the town centre.

Oatlands infant and junior places, and later secondary places, are applied for through North Yorkshire Council. Use the catchment maps. Living on Hookstone Road does not by itself reserve a place.

Are Oatlands houses mostly detached?
Many are large semis or detached homes with a drive, especially off Hookstone Road and Oatlands Drive. Some older streets still have no off-street space. Tell us which you have.
Is Hornbeam Park the station for Oatlands?
Yes for the south of Harrogate. Hornbeam Park is unstaffed, on the line to Leeds. It is not a loading point for a removal van. We still need a stop at the house.
Do you move pianos from Oatlands houses?
Yes. Bay windows, steps up to the front door and a heavy upright are a normal Oatlands job. We need the route from the room to the drive.
