Boroughbridge is a market town on the Ure, about 15 miles from Bewerley Road. The High Street is narrow, with shops and houses close to the carriageway, and the bridge is a pinch point. St James Square is the civic space. The library overlooks it, and the free car park is in Back Lane, not on the square itself. Newer housing on the edges of town has drives. A High Street terrace often means a carry.

YO51 is the postcode. The town is in North Yorkshire. The A1(M) is the fast road south, then the A59 or A61 into Harrogate. That is a morning’s local job, not a shuttle from the town centre. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book.

See house removals and long distance removals if the other address is well beyond Yorkshire. Nearby: Ripon and Knaresborough. Harrogate removals is based on Bewerley Road.

Moving in Boroughbridge: common questions

Is Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire?

Yes. It is a North Yorkshire town. Bins and council tax are with North Yorkshire Council. It is not in Leeds, and it is not in the old Harrogate borough, which was abolished in April 2023.

Can you stop on the High Street?

Only for a legal short stop. The High Street is narrow and used by through traffic. A house with a rear lane or a side street is often easier. Tell us which door you use.

How long does the drive from Harrogate take?

About 15 miles from Bewerley Road, depending on the A1(M) and the A168. It is a local collection for us, not an overnight run, but it is not a town-centre shuttle.
