Killinghall sits on the A61 just north-west of Harrogate, at the roundabout where Ripon Road meets the Otley Road. Older stone houses cluster by the junction. Newer estates spread off the main road with drives and short cul-de-sacs. Lanes towards Hampsthwaite are narrower, with walls and few places to pass.
A house on the A61 cannot be loaded from the running lane. We need a drive or a side road. Estate hammerheads look wide on a plan and tight when every neighbour is at home. Our base on Bewerley Road is about 2 miles away, so the drive is short. The access is the part that takes the time.
HG3 is the usual postcode. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book. A single item from a cottage lane may need a smaller van than a four-bed new build on the estate.
