Hampsthwaite is a stone village in the Nidd valley, about 4 miles from Bewerley Road via Killinghall. Houses face the green or sit on lanes with grass verges and walls. Drives are short or missing. A removal here is often a carry from the nearest place a van can wait without blocking the only passing point.

Church Lane and the roads off the green are not estate roads. If two vans meet, one has to reverse. We would rather know that the night before. A smaller vehicle and a second trip is a normal answer for a cottage, and it should be in the quote.

HG3 covers the village. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book. An upright piano down a stone stair is a different job from a few boxes, so tell us about the heavy pieces.

Moving in Hampsthwaite: common questions

Will a large removals van fit through Hampsthwaite?

Not always. Some lanes have walls, bends and one passing place. If the cottage is off the main village road, send a photo. We may use a smaller van and an extra trip.

Is there parking by the village green?

The green is not a loading bay. We need the house entrance, not a pin dropped on the middle of the green. Cars already parked there reduce what is left.

How far is Hampsthwaite from Harrogate?

About 4 miles from our Bewerley Road base, usually via Killinghall. It is still a local job, with village access rather than town centre rules.
